Expression of Interest

We would like to invite you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Eden Hore Central Otago film project. Set out below, and in the attached brochure, is information regarding the scope of the proposed project and background information about the enigmatic Eden Hore and his passion for NZ-designed fashion and the vibrant and unique fashion collection itself.

Introduction

  • The Eden Hore Central Otago (EHCO) project team is interested in receiving expressions of interest from producers and directors who have an interest in working with us to develop a compelling feature or documentary for domestic and international distribution
  • The attached background outline of EHCO and the approach we have taken, to date, in considering a strategic approach to telling the remarkable stories that are contained within and emanate from this singular relationship between a high-country farmer, the landscape he farmed and loved and his astonishing collection of over 275 haute couture 1970s and 1980s gowns and outfits
  • The story strategy is provided as a guide; it is NOT prescriptive

Objectives

The approach should:

  • Deliver a compelling story that is likely to intrigue New Zealand and global viewers to:
  • Inspire and excite audiences
  • Gain insights into Eden’s extraordinary and enigmatic life, including his passion for NZ-designed fashion garments and his close association with Central Otago
  • Explore the subjects (designers, models etc) of his fashion collection further
  • Be enchanted by Central Otago and consider and act on visiting
  • Engage proactively in EHCO’s goals of championing vision and ongoing courage in fashion, design, creative aspiration and collecting the extraordinary etc
  • Be produced in a format that is likely to reach a wide range of New Zealanders and global audiences and which will allow the possible ancillary use of the content to support EHCO's goals
  • Generate interest from commissioning editors and content funding organisations within NZ and overseas that will ensure its successful realisation and distribution
  • Be appropriate for entry in New Zealand and global awards and/or festivals etc

Requirements

Your EOI should include:
